INTERDISCIPLINARY ART: JEWELLERY DESIGN MEETS ARCHITECTURE

Drawing studies of our "Manhattan" ear jewellery to show the selected gradations of the colour gradient of the gemstones

URBAN STRUCTURES AS A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION

Inspired by the legendary Manhattan skyline, we developed an extraordinary ear jewellery in the early 90s that is constantly evolving and possesses all our craftsmanship and aesthetic experience. The distinctive division of the individual segments with their fine colour gradient is reminiscent of the fronts of New York City’s skyscrapers.

FROM THE DRAWING TO THE FORM

The Fochtmann manufactory attaches great importance to the accurate selection of the finest gemstones of the highest quality.

Each jewel used for our Manhattan ear jewellery is cut individually and material-specifically by our in-house gemstone cutter. In cooperation with the jewel setter, the precious stones are then probed in such a way that the most beautiful colour gradient can be reproduced.

EXCLUSIVITY THROUGH CAREFUL SELECTION

Placed with the utmost precision, our jewel setter sets the gemstones in the piece of jewellery. In addition to a great deal of experience, this traditional craftsmanship requires a high degree of calm and material knowledge in order to meet the enormously high quality standards of our house.

Later, the finished ear jewellery is “freed” from the so-called putty stick. The traces of the barrel work are cleaned and checked.

We take a particularly long time for the finish in order to revise possible defects that could potentially be detrimental to the overall aesthetic effect of the ear jewellery.
